The plan, man!

Tomorrow is the start of a brand new school year.

Finally, a hundred percent moved-in and unpacked. A thousand things to do and consider it seems and I only had ONE week of summer to do it/take care of it. I’m tired, but I’m not really that stressed. Ironically, I think summer studio has taught me to ease up on my habit of worrying/stressing… even though I have a lot on my plate plus architecture school constantly on the back of my mind.

Talked to the associate undergraduate adviser today, Jeane because I was considering pursuing a double major in both architecture and urban studies . But what she said to me today was very encouraging and gave me a small boost since I tend to be very hard and negative on myself. She told me, “I know you are very concerned about not getting in and it is good idea that you are thinking of an alternative. But, I also want to tell you that I have heard good and positive comments about your work over this summer and I know you are a very good student. I want you to know that I will be really vouching for you during the spring application. Don’t be so negative on yourself.” She is part of the decision panel in the spring.

Thanks Jeane, that really meant a lot to me.

During my freshmen year, I stressed a lot over architecture school and I pushed myself to work very hard. I did well, but unfortunately, there was only one spot open. My attitude this year will be no different. Even though I tell myself not to stress about it, I will. Human nature; its my future we are talking about here, how could I not? Anyways, I’m still sticking to the plan of working my ass off and hoping all my hard work, from the last year, summer studio, and into this next year, will pay off. I’m just as determined, and if not better, than I was last year. Actually… I am a lot happier and more positive than I was last year. I’m kinda excited for school.

This year, the plan is to get all A’s and get into the architecture school that I completely fell in love with.
